2013 Population
The main story in the newspaper was the school shooting and the editors chose to make the picture of grieving classmates the biggest photo. The story was mainly talking about the most recent update at the time of the student who died a few days later after the incident. So, the photo of the victim was embedded within the story giving a face to the person’s story. Other photos are all used well and small in proportion. There is a graph that illustrates another story and it is well incorporated to give that picture of data.
For typography choices I noticed Times New Roman was the main font used for the stories. The only times a different type of font was used was to emphasize a heading or subheading. I tried to match those different fonts, but they were not within Wix, so I used the closest I could find.
The lines used to divide up the stories also add to the organization of the stories. Including lines to divide up stories is something I want to include in my own blogs, but I feel that the blog will look rigid like a newspaper and not open as a blog.
